The papers in this seventh volume of the Journal are all concerned with industrially relevant complex flows. Each has been presented at a NAFEMS seminar and, following peer review, are published for the benefit of the wider NAFEMS community.
Four papers were presented at the seminar “Simulation of Complex Flows (CFD) – Application and Trends”, April 2005, in Niedernhausen, Germany. These deal with topics of CFD complexity involving combustor design, free-surface flows, aeroacoustics and axial fan design.
The remaining paper addresses cross-wind effects on high-sided vehicles and was presented at a NAFEMS/ERCOFTAC seminar entitled “Quality & Reliability of CFD Simulations III: Quantifying and Reducing Uncertainty”, March 2007.
